German industry is undergoing a major transformation process. In addition to digitalisation and demographic change, the energy transition and climate change are important further drivers in many companies. The industrial sector is the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases after energy production. As such, industry plays a central role in achieving climate protection goals in Germany as a business location.
How are energy- and emissions-intensive companies positioning themselves in view of these expectations? What should the future industrial policy in Germany look like and what framework conditions are needed from policymakers? Is the location facing deindustrialisation or is it a necessary structural change? What economic opportunities arise and does the transformation not even strengthen the innovative ability of companies? How can the international competitiveness of German industry be further expanded with sustainable production methods despite high energy prices?
We want to discuss these and many other questions with our experts on the podium and with all participants. Join us and ask your questions!
