MünchnerStiftungsFrühling 2024 aims to make the work of foundations accessible to the general public. From 6 to 9 June 2024, more than 100 foundations and partners will offer a varied programme of lectures, guided tours, cultural events, discussions, workshops and specialist events. The aim is to highlight the importance of foundations for our society.

The Munich Re Foundation, together with Green City e.V. and Mikado UMdieWELT from the Initiativgruppe - Interkulturelle Begegnung und Bildung e.V., is taking part in MunichFoundationSpring 2024 with a workshop programme on the topic of climate justice.

How are the climate crisis, social and global (in)justice connected?

The participatory workshop concept Klima.Gerecht.Machen was developed in 2023 by Green City and Mikado in close dialogue with young people and with financial support from the Munich Re Foundation. 19 young adults with and without a migration background were trained as multipliers and enabled to conduct workshops in their peer groups, schools or youth centres. Their aim is to use an authentic approach to get more young people interested in climate protection. Topics include climate and racism, climate and intersectional discrimination, climate and decolonial thinking, and global injustice.

On 6 June 2024, you can take part in a live Klima.Gerecht.Machen workshop and join in the discussion on the topic: Is the climate crisis an injustice crisis? Young multipliers from the Klima.Gerecht.Machen project will lead the workshop, which will interactively demonstrate the connections between the climate crisis and social and global injustice. They will provide insights into the challenges and show what can be done to promote sustainability and justice.
